Kathrina is a first generation Italian, native New Yorker living in SOHO. As a child she was always very artistic — creating, drawing and painting. While finishing her B.F.A. from Fashion Institute of Technology, at 17, she was hired as the youngest make-up artist for Chanel Cosmetics. She then went on to earn a B.F.A, in Education from Wagner College, and then taught make-up for a French Aesthetics Institute in NYC. She soon realized her passion was to be more creative, and went on to work on ABC’s “All my Children”, 3 seasons of A&E’s “Biography”, TV, movies, celebrity appearances, commercials, print, and happily fell back into being “an artist.” Kathrina is a proud member of New York’s Local 798 make-up and hair union I.A.T.S.E.

Today she works with many celebrities including The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, Blythe Danner, Alec Baldwin, and Andrea Bocelli. She is capable at creating many different looks – ranging from clean and modern to dramatic and sexy. She created special effects on Spike Lee’s “Inside Man” with Densel Washington. She has recently been a featured make-up artist on “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style” on the Bravo Network, and is The Key Make-up Artist for the new show “Watching the Detectives” on The Bio Channel.

While living abroad in Italy, she is always inspired to paint portraits and landscapes, which is her true love. She believes her artist background has played a tremendous role in her success as a make-up artist.

“You must truly know the structure of the face, and love color to be a true and successful make-up artist. My goal has always been to see the talent, and not be distracted by the make-up.” - KM
